Prydz Bay is a key survey area in the Southern Ocean due to its unique geographic feature and plays an important role in the carbon cycle in the Southern Ocean. The distributions of Carbon dioxide in the air and the sea surface water were described here and the carbon fluxes between them were well calculated. We also described the main driving force, which controls the feature of distributions of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2).

Because the Bering/Chukchi region is likely to be the site of net carbon sequestration, and because the region has experienced rapid change,it is important to improve our understanding of carbon cyclin
