Atmospheric trace gas measurements were conducted during SEEDS-Ⅱ,which was Iron fertilization experiment in HNLC region in northwest subarctic Pacific during summer in 2004.Atmospheric DMS was measured continuously (about every hour) by GC-MS on R/V Hakuho. Also the ambient air was sampled into canisters (42 samples) and analyzed by GC-MS and GC-FID for various biogenic and anthropogenic VOCs after the cruise.CO,O3,SO2,NOx were monitored continuously (every one minute) on the ship by commercial instruments. The concentration variation of CO,which can be an indicator of pollutant with lifetime about a month, can be explained by the long-range transport from source area (land) using backward trajectory analysis.O3,which is secondary production from pollutant, showed similar change as CO.
