  Based on the conditions of cookoff test,the calculation model of thermal ignition for the explosive was established.The heat transfer process and the quasi-static response of the PBX-2 explosives with the steel confinement at different heating rates were simulated by means of the thermo-mechanical coupled analysis function of LS-DYNA,an explicit finite element code.The time to ignition,ignition temperature and the location of the ignition were determined.The thermal expansion of the configuration,the pressure distribution,the contours of the Von Mises effective stress and the effective stain were obtained.The results show that the time to ignition is deceasing with the increasing of the calefactive rate,while the temperature of the confinement is increasing with that.The pressure of the ignition location is also the high pressure location of the fix.The result of numerical simulation shows a good agreement with the experimental measurements.
