In recent years, the theory of MHD has been more and more introduced into the control of hypersonic flights.During the reentry of satellites or other spacecrafts, the strong bow shock in front of them heats the air behind it to such a high temperature that air ionizes, and local plasma flow forms.Then magnetic fields can be imposed to change the forces and heat transfer rate in a beneficial way.
