Growth hormone deficiency resulting in short stature can have varied manifestations in the reproductive career of a woman.Achieving pregnancy itself can be difficult due to delayed puberty.Furthermore if pregnancy is achieved either spontaneously or by treatment, there is significant risk of miscarriages, preterm labour and contracted pelvis.We are herewith presenting a case of a short statured primigravida who had never attained menarche, presenting with obstructed labour.A 30 year old woman, a short statured lady, who had not attained menarche, had gone to the district hospital with history of progressive abdominal distension over the past 4 months with progressively increasing pain abdomen for the past 2 days.After a clinical examination and an ultrasonogram,she was diagnosed to be pregnant and hence referred to our hospital in view of labour with contracted pelvis.On examination, she was found to be in obstructed labour and hence an emergency caesarean section was done.Postnatally, in view of history of delayed puberty, no family history of short stature, and proportionate dwarfism, she was evaluated and found to have growth hormone deficiency.
