  Flood hazards are the issues of the 21st century.Recently flood frequency and magnitude are dramatically increased due to the change in climate throughout the world.The climate change influences the rainfall in watersheds, which is a reason for flooding in rivers.Another reason for flash floods is deforestation in river catchments which increase the surface runoff.In addition urbanization causes the floodplain encroachments which ultimately influence runoff and flood behavior.However floods are useful for human beings.Flood increases fertility in addition to the availability of extra water for agriculture practice.The latter can be utilized by well managed water management.
