Aryl nitrile compounds are widely used in the synthesis of natural products, functional materials,medicines, agricultural chemicals, and dyes.1 Traditional methods for their synthesis suffer from one or more limitations with respect to the use of toxic reagents, the need of prefunctionalization of coupling partners, and the generation of large amount of organic or inorganic wastes, etc.
