Separating carbon dioxide (CO2) from flue gases exhausted by petroleum industry,pharmaceutical industry or fossil-fuel-fired power plants,requires the use of a gas-liquid contact device that efficiently removes CO2 from a flue-gas flow [1].This paper presents a multi-inverting plate scheme for process of falling liquid film absorption,which consists of five wire-bundle plates with opposite inclination and leads the liquid film from both sides of the upper plate to the opposite sides of the bottom one.Experiments of CO2 absorption into pure water are carried out,and results show the better mass transfer enhancement effect of multi-inverting configuration compared with ordinary one.Computational simulation is developed based on turbulent flow model including κ,ε equations,mixture method to trace the gas-liquid inter-phase and eddy diffusion [2] for mass transfer.Simulation results are close to experimental data.
