MEA is the key component of fuel cell portable power source. MEA with Nation content 35wt% was designed for power source with cathode flow field open to the air. The MEA was tested with both hydrogen and air at 0.02MPa, working temperature at 65 ~C,to compare the performance with humidification and no humidification. Fuel cell stack with 20 said single cells were tested under different conditions and the results showed that fuel cell stack with hydrophilic MEAs performed well as portable power source. Hydrophilic MEAs exhibited good self-humidification, which improved the reliability of portable power source with simple structure and system integration.
