Purpose: To evaluate the effects of a hindered amine light stabilizer on the color stability and mechanical properties of a maxillofacial silicone elastomer,and to explore an optimum dosage which ensures better color stability and benign mechanical properties.Methods: The intrinsically pigmented SY-1 maxillofacial silicone rubber was divided into 8 groups on the basis of the additive ratio of the hindered amine light stabilizer Tinuvin123,which increased as 0.00%,0.05%,1.00%,1.50%,2.00%,2.50%,3.00%,3.50%by weight.Specimens were made in plexiglass moulds at 70℃ for 1.5h and 26℃ for 24h in dark place.
