Leucine-rich repeat receptors like kinases (LRR-RLKs) represent the largest group of protein receptor kinases in the Arabidopsis thaliana genome, with more than 200 members, and play roles in diverse biological processes[1].CLV1 is one of the most studied LRR-RLKs which promotes differentiation of plant stem cells together with CLV2 and CLV3[2].Arabidopsis BAM (barely any meristem) genes,BAM1-3,encode the three closest CLV1-related receptor kinases required with developmental role opposite to that of CLV1 for both shoot and flower meristem function[3].
