  氮化鎵的晶體結構為六方纖鋅礦結構,可產生介於藍光~紫光之間的發光波長(約364.7 nm),氮化鎵材料的研究與應用是目前半導體業界的熱潮,也是製作微電子元件及光電子元件的材料,氮化鎵具有寬的能隙(約3.4ev)、強的化學鍵、高的熱導率、穩定的化學性質和強的抗輻射能力,在光電子、高溫大功率器件和高頻微波器件應用方面有著廣闊的前景.
