Nowadays, self-assembled synthetic peptide fibrils provide an important contribution in many nanotechnology applications.In this work, self-assembled amyloid-like cysteine-rich peptide fibers were successfully obtained and then employed to directly bind gold (Au) nanoparticles exploiting the well reported sulphur-Au bond between the cysteine and Au nanoparticles.
