Polar auxin transport plays an important role in many growth and developmental processes in plants.Many environmental factors can effect root development, such as drought stress and light.We have reported that the negative phototropism of rice roots was probably caused by polar transport of auxin, and Ca2+ ion maybe act as a second messenger to participate in regulating the negative phototropism of rice roots.
