随着我国经济文化的日益发展,中国融入世界、世界了解中国的局面正在日益形成,在此过程中需要“培养大批具有专业知识又通晓国际规则、能够参与国际事务和国际竞争的国际化人才”(《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要(2010-2020年)》)。跨文化交际应从英语教学中仅仅局限于英语专业学生扩展到大学英语教学的前台,培养更广大的工科院校学生既具有专业知识又通晓国际规则、懂得国际文化交际交流的原则与规范。这样,大学英语教学才能够适应我国经济社会对外开放的现状,满足为未来中国可持续发展培养既具有专业知识又具有跨文化交际能力专业人才的实际需要。
