Several clay samples used in clay bricks industry were collected randomly from Riyadh city area,Saudi Arabia and analysed using different techniques.Analytical data showed that the clay samples are mainly of smectite group with kaolinite traces.The total iron contents,concentration of Fe(Ⅲ),Fe(Ⅱ),and the free iron oxides in the raw material were determined by M(o)ssbauer spectroscopy.
