Objective Surgical trauma in peripheral tissues induce the activation of microglia and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines in brain.Although MiR-124 is well-known for maintaining the quiescence of microglia,the exact role of miR-124 in surgical trauma induced pro-inflammatory cytokine release is unknown.
