The cement industry is aware of environmental problems due to large CO2 emission.Using less Portland cement can reduce the carbon footprint of the building industry.This can be achieved by using blended cement in which part of Portland cement is replaced by inert additives, such as micronized sand and limestone powder that are cheaper and environmentally friendly.However, because of its potential negative impact on the mechanical properties of cement paste, the addition of inert additives is limited.The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence of inert additives on the mechanical properties of cement paste.
