Blood pressure detection and control rates vary by country and jurisdiction.Typically, it is the primary care provider who is targeted to improve these variables, the implication being that somehow failure to achieve targets is due to provider-related factors.In Canada, it is recognized that blood pressure detection and control is dependent upon provider, patient and system factors, all of which must be addressed in order to achieve optimal hypertension care.
