Oxygen evolution (water oxidation) is the key step of the research for solar water splitting.1,2 We have previously prepared a triad complex by covalent incorporation of two [Ru(bpy)3]2+ sensitizers and a water oxidation catalyst [Ru(bda)(pic)2] (H2bda = 2,2′-bipyridine-6,6′-dicarboxylic acid,pic = picoline).
