Natural antisense transcripts are at least partially complementary to their sense transcripts.Cis-Sense/Antisense pairs (cis-SAs) have been extensively characterized and known to play diverse regulatory roles,whereas trans-Sense/Antisense pairs (trans-SAs) in animals are poorly studied.
