The injector nozzle geometry was obtained by using the X-ray CT imaging technology, effects of the microburr on the near-field and far-field spray characteristics were investigated by using the visualization technology of the spray. Results show that the higher injection pressure, the stronger near-field spray surface disturbance during the initial stage of injection. Under the condition of the same injection pressure, the micro-burr will increase the near-field spray surface disturbance further. With the effect of the micro-burr the primary breakup of the near-field spray is improved and the fuel droplets distribution area in atmosphere is enlarged during the steady injection period. The near-field spray cone angle is 1.5 to 3 times larger than that without the effect of the burr. The injection pressure has almost no influence on the near-field spray cone angle when under the effect of the micro-burr. However, without the effect of the micro-burr, the higher injection pressure, the larger near-field spray cone angle. Under the effect of the burr, the branch emerges when considering the far-field spray. Furthermore, the branch emerging time advances with the increasing injection pressures.
