In this talk,we report the recent progresses in the development of field-effect terahertz (THz) mixers[1-6].Mixing of THz electromagnetic wave in a field-effect electron channel allows for constructing both homodyne and heterodyne THz detection.Homodyne detection has been demonstrated in the frequency range from 0.1 to 4.5 THz.The noise-equivalent power (NEP) can be as low as 10 pW/Hz1/2 at room temperature.
