This study was conducted to estimate the heritability of genetic parameters of meat pertaining to pork belly of slaughtered Yorkshire pigs.A total of 383 purebred Yorkshire pigs were utilized in this study.Belly weight,belly length,belly width,latissimus dorsi muscle (area at 9th thoracic vertebra),belly muscle area,belly muscle fat area,and cutaneous trunci muscle at various areas (at 9th thoracic and 14th thoracic vertebrae and cross section lengths at 9th thoracic and 14th thoracic vertebrae) were the parameters evaluated.
