　　Synopsis The K-shell excitation of high-Z ions has been investigated in relativistic ion-atoms collisions by observing subsequent x-ray emission.Thereby, we were able to observe and study for the first time the effect of electron-impact excitation in the heaviest hydrogen-like ion.
