Objective: Previous studies showed more than half of the population aged over 60 year-old suffered from knee osteoarthritis (OA).It deteriorates life quality by severe disability and heavy economic burden.The mechanism of knee OA was still misty and there was short of effective treatment toward it.Bone mass losing exists silently and osteoporosis (OP) is also a high morbidity disease in middle and elderly population all over the world.BMD measurement is a universal method for arriving at an early diagnosis of OP in clinical practice.The relationship between knee OA and bone mineral density has been still controversial in past decades.The aim of this study was to explore the cross sectional association between knee OA and lumbar BMD.
