The enforcement of collaboration between governments and local NGOs is too often seen as a dogmatic position pushed by excited Northern activists and advocated by weak Northern governments or UN agencies. There has been little simple and clear explanations about the necessity to pursue such a partnership for the sake of the AIDS fight. In fact it is obvious that the need for cross generational programs will require people living with HIV themselves, parents, teachers, vulnerable groups, and all sort of leaders, including religious ones,to be involved both in the prevention aspects of the fight and also in life-long treatment compliance. The best ways for any individual to join its efforts is through non governmental organisations. The very beginning of comprehensive.response to the epidemic set the tone for a new deal between patients and doctors.
