  LED (Light Emitting diode) has been widely used in general lighting.Also,in many fields of biology and medicine,LED is being accepted as a new lighting source to replace the tradition lighting sources like xenon lamp,metal halide lamp,incandescent lamp,and part of laser,due to its unbeatable advantages.In this presentation,the application status of LED in biomedical engineering,including medical lighting,diagnostics and therapy has been reviewed.
