Fusarium head blight(FHB),leaf rust and stem rust(Ug99)are the most destructive fungal diseases in wheat production.A diploid wheatgrass,Thinopyrum elongatum(Host)D.R.Dewey(Lophopyrum elongatum(Host)á.L(o)ve,2n = 2x = 14,EE genome)is the excellent source of diseases resistance. In this study, the new wheat-rye-Thinopyrum elongatum trigeneric hybrids, derived from the crossing between a hexaploid 8801(AABBEE)and a hexaploid triticale T182(AABBRR)were identified and analyzed using genomic in situ hybridization(GISH)and molecular markers.PCR-based rye(Secale cereale L.)chromosome-specific markers can contribute to the effective utilization of elite genes of rye in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)breeding programs.
