  Due to the increasing demand of molybdenum (Mo),effective extraction process for low-grade Mo ore is interested to keep up with global demand.Mo is usually extracted by acid leaching from roasted Mo ore.Therefore the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data and mixture properties for the acid leaching mixture will be needed to analyze solvent capability and to optimize extraction process and also for recycling of used solvents and diluents,such as tertiary amines,ketones,heavy alkanes,and alkanols,that were used so far in the Mo extraction process.[1,2] We have studied ionic liquids (ILs) as substitute of toxic organic solvents or diluents since ILs have recently been categorized as green solvent in industrial separation process because of their non-volatility,non-flammability and a low impact on the ecosystem.[3,4] In this paper,LLE and physical properties for binary or ternary water/amines or ketones as solvents/ imidazolium or phophonium based ILs as diluents were reported.These ILs could replace the organic solvents or diluents in the Mo extraction process.In addition,excess molar volume (VE) and deviations in molar refractivity (ΔR) at 298.15 K are determined for the binary systems of solvents +ILs.The used ILs were [BMIM][Tf2N],[BMIM][BF6],[EMIM][ Tf2N],[OMIM][BF6],[P666,14] [TMPP]),[P666,14][Cl] and [P666,14] [DCA],etc.[5] The determined LLE were correlated well with non-random two liquid (NRTL) model.The VE and ΔR were correlated with the Redlich–Kister equation.And the binary density and refractive index data at 298.15 K were predicted with several mixing rules and correlated with the Daubert and Danner equation,the linear equation and the Goletz and Tassion equation.The following figures illustrate some of determined LLE and mixture properties.
