RESEARCH ON THE PROCESS OF SUPPORTING PEDESTAL FORMED BY FORGING INSTEAD OF CASTING BASED ON NUMERIC

  The process design that supporting pedestal of railroad lorry is formed by forging instead of casting is proposed.After analysis of structure and forging formability of the cast-steel product,and on the basis of failed theory,the forging-steel product with high safety factor is gained by using the structural stress analysis of ANSYS.Through the forging analysis,the left and right supporting pedestal are spliced at a certain angle,and the forging process in which two forging-steel parts are formed in one die and the left and right supporting pedestal are united as one is developed.Furthermore,using DEFORM-3D,the forging process is simulated and the feasibility of this new process is forecasted.The trial production and the result of product detection indicate that the supporting pedestal formed by forging is feasible and the performance of product is stable and credible.Factory has carried out the mass production of forging-steel supporting pedestal series,which has shown a remarkable economic and social benefit.
