Stress corrosion cracking(SCC)of sensitized 304 stainless steel(SS)in borated and lithiated high temperature water without and with Zn injection was studied using slow stain rate test(SSRT)and surface morphology observation. The results show that SCC susceptibility of 304 SS have been weaken and the surface oxide films have changed relatively in Zn water chemistry(ZWC).A model of crack tip in oxide film is proposed to discuss how the Zn bearing oxides could reduce crack growth rates.
