  Polysiloxane elastorners show very low glass transition temperature (Tg), but they tend to crystallize and lose elasticity at a temperature far higher than their Tg· This study focused on improving the low-temperature performance of polysiloxane elastomers by destroying the regularity of polysiloxane chains through altering the side groups.Poly(methylvinyisiloxane) elastomers (SR) with different content of vinyl groups were synthesized by the anionic ring opening polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and 2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetravinylcyciotetrasiloxane initiated by tetramethylammonium silanolate.
