　　Through quantitative analysis of four ports and their host cities,this study asserts that Shanghai and Ningbo ports in the Yangtze River Delta region,and Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports in the Pearl River Delta region are not in absolute competition and that the development of one port is not at the expense of another.
