RNA-seq was used for transcriptome profiling analysis of the light-induced brown film formation in order to gain insight into the mechanism of fruit body initiation in Lentinula edodes.Fungal mycelium was sampled after growth under three different conditions: 30 d in darkness (sample 118), 80 d in darkness (sample 313W), and 30 d in darkness followed by 50 d in the light (sample 313C).
