The whole plan of Kinostemon ornatum (Hemsl) Kudo has been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of cancer, hepatitis in China.Five new compounds, kinostemon A (1), kinostemon B (2), 15-methoxy-kinalborin A (3), 2-carboxymethyl-5-methoxy-furan-3-carboxylic acid (4) and kinostemon C (5), together with 15 known compounds were isolated from this plant.Their structures were determined by means of extensive spectroscopic analysis and comparison with previously reported data1-3.
