Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the taste changes by intraoperative manipulation of the CTN.Methodology: We prospectively enrolled 56 patients who underwent middle ear surgery and investigated the taste changes with the use of questionnaire before surgery, 1month and 3months after surgery.Three degrees of CTN manipulation during surgery were denoted by a single surgeon: cut, manipulated, remained intact.
