In consideration of bulky spirofluorene with several advantages with various applications in electronics,we explored the concise methodology of spirofluroenes ten years ago.As a result,a one-pot procedure of spiro[fluorene-9,9-xanthene](SFX,Fig.1)was discovered fortuitously with the obvious advantage of low-cost,pot-atom-step economic procedure and others over the conventional o-halobiaryl method [1].In our work [2],SFX-based chemistry has been conducted with various C-C or C-X coupling reaction to establish a platform of bulky semiconductors for organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs)and perovskite solar cells,etc.
