Molecular Mapping of Wheat Leaf Rust Resistance Gene in Henong 6251 at Seedling Stage

  Henong 6251 is a new variety of wheat developed by Agricultural University of Hebei.Preliminary research showed that it contributed higher disease resistance level to some Puccinia triticina races.Detecting and mapping wheat leaf rust resistance gene is significant for application of the resistance in the wheat production.Resistant parent Henong 6251, susceptible parent Thatcher and their F2 ,F3 populations were employed to mapping the wheat leaf rust resistance genes in the Henong 6251 based on SSR.Molecular marker-assisted identification results showed that Henong 6251 contained leaf rust resistance gene Lr26 and LrZH84, and probably contain Lr2c and Lr17a.Henong 6251, Thatcher, and their F1, F2 populations and F3 families were tested for wheat leaf rust resistance with single strain of Chinese P.triticina pathotype PBGP in greenhouse.
