Seawater samples for the analysis of both dissolved and particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were collected from the eastern Beibu Gulf (also called the Gulf of Tonkin) during April and October,2007.The PAH concentrations reported here supplied a baseline for the studied area which,compared to other coastal and open sea areas,was at a relatively low to middle level on a global scale.
