SmAlO3 powders were synthesized by nitrate-citrate sol-gel combustion method.The influence of mole ratio of citric acid to metallic ions(MRCM),pH value of the solution on the synthesis and properties of as-prepared powders were investigated in detail.Higher crystallinity and better laser absorbing performance powders were obtained at MRCM=1:1,pH<1 under 900 ℃ for 2 h.The results showed that the reflectivity of the powders apparently decreased at the wavelength between 1.05 and 1.15 μm.The reflectivity at 1.06 μm achieved the minimum of 0.7%tested by UV-PC.The heat resistance performance of the SmAlO3/PVB coating was also researched.As a result,the reflectivity of SmAlO3 laser absorbing coating at various temperatures from-40 to 350 ℃ transformed within ± 0.3%,and all maintained below 1%at 1.06 μm.Therefore,SmAlO3 might be a promising kind of absorbing coating material for infrared laser with a wide range of temperatures.
