The biogeographic patterns in pyrenomycetous fungi were not properly discussed.Although many of them are restricted to a single genus of vascular plants, they do not follow their hosts everywhere and display their own peculiarities in distribution.The famous "Asa Gray disjunction" between areas of the same species in eastem Asia and eastern North America was reported for a number of mushrooms and does exist in pyrenomycetous fungi too.
