Low-temperature polymer-electrolyte-membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) require high purity hydrogen as fuel.Preferential CO oxidation (CO-PrOx) is among the preferred technologies to reduce the CO content of hydrogen produced from hydrocarbons or alcohols reforming to 10-100 ppm for small-scale fuel processor applications. In case of PEMFCs for portable and automotive applications, microreactors can help to meet the availability of compact, light and integrated hydrogen supply systems.
