For control processes with a control factor and ternary response,it is important to find the effective settings of the control factor.Especially,finding the window of the control factor necessary to cause the probability of normal response larger than specified p is of scientific and practical interest.We derived the optimal Robbins-Monro procedure and proposed an optimal stochastic approximation to estimate the window of interest.Simulations study shows that the proposed method gives an efficient estimation with small sample sizes and with great accuracy.
