Synopsis: The nonradiative electron capture processes for C4+(1s2) colliding with He atoms are investigated by using the quantum-mechanical molecular-orbital close-coupling method.State-selective electron capture cross sections and the polarization degrees for the C3+(3p 2p3/2)-C3+(3s 2S1/2) transition of C3+(1s23p) are calculated in the energy range of 0.5-5 keV/amu.Compared with available theoretical calculations, better agreement has been achieved between present results for electron capture to C3+(2s) and C3+(2p) and the available theoretical and experimental results.
