Purpose:This study examined gender differences in the effect of intergenerational exchanges on subjective health of Chinese rural elderly.Method:Participants aged 60+ years were from the baseline and follow-up surveys of "Welfare of Elderly in Anhui Province,China" conducted in 2001 and in 2003,respectively,by the Institute for Population and Development Studies of Xian Jiaotong University.Employing a random-effect logistic regression model to adjust the cohort effect of age,this study analyzed the association between SRH and intergenerational support in terms of gender.
