Irregular low-density parity-check(LDPC)codes can provide an unequal error protection(UEP)capability naturally by unequal degree distribution.In this paper we propose a new architecture of UEP-LDPC encoder based on the method of Richardson and Urbanke in image transmission.In order to reduce processing complexity and hardware consumption,we also present a novel two-stage dynamic programming algorithm to perform matrix triangulation instead of traditional approach.Experiment results show the optimization architecture and algorithm can provide high UEP capability and reduce encoding complexity significantly.
