The phytohormone gibberellin (GA), a diterpenoid compound, is an allosteric inducer of its nuclear receptor GIBBERELLIN INSENSITIVE DWARF1 (GID1).Acting downstream of GID1, the DELLA proteins are transcription regulators that repress GA signaling and restrict plant growth by causing transcriptional reprogramming.
