Allium is an important genus of family Amaryllidaceae.Four medicinally,economically important and less explored Allium species viz.Allium auriculatum Kunth.,A.ampeloprasum L.,A.ascalonicum L.and A.rubellum M.Bieb high altitude regions of western Himalayas.These Allium species were screened for various bio-chemical parameters,mineral elements and amino acids contents.The aerial and under ground parts of plants were screened individually in the study.These Allium species were found very good source of total carbohydrates,mineral elements,crude fat,dietary fibre,phenolics,tannins,β-carotene,vitamin B 1,B2 and C contents.
