Mitochondrial ATP-sensitive K+ channels(mito KATP)have been shown to be one of the important protective mechanisms for myocardium undergoing ischemia/reperfusion. Diazoxide,the mito KATP opener,is likely to be involved in the cardioprotective effects of ischaemic preconditioning in reducing lactate dehydrogenase release and improvement in heart function. In our study,we investigated the cardioprotective effects and mechanisms of diazoxide on the myocardial ischemia/reperfusion unjury of rats.
